It was my job to apply your tattoo correctly, now it is now your job to take care of it going forward.
Aftercare is crucial in keeping the integrity of your tattoo long term. You've invested a lot time, pain, and money into your artwork, you definitely want to make it last!
Second Skin Aftercare
Days 1-5
The RAW Stage
You were more than likely given a clear bandage called Recovery or Tegiderm. Do your best to lease this bandage on the tattoo for the next 3-5 days after the appointment. The Longer the better. But do not exeed more than 7 days as this could lead to irritation or other complications.
Week Two
Itch from Hell
Your tattoo has flaked off and it's beginning to feel like a thousand feathers are tickling your skin. DO NOT SCRATCH IT. Apply a thin layer of ointment or lotion to help soothe the itchiness. You can use light pats or scratch along side the tattoo but never on it.
Do NOT let me catch you in the water, ocean, pool, etc..
